Lower Eaton 3BIV

LOWER EATON CANYON 3BIV

One of my favorite local canyons.  I've never done it when there's a good flow.  I wasn't able to make the previous two outings so I thought I'd make my own.

2X 120' Ropes

Guys, Need advice on grommets. Size? Brand? Where to buy? Installing? Realize that was part of problem with dry bags were sitting submerged in my bag

    • Steve H

Those SeatoSummit cloth-treated bags are worthless - they always leak on me. Get a urethane bag. They're a bit heavier but won't leak at all.

Hey folks, a few reminders: wetsuits are mandatory on this trip - I will ask you to sit out if you don't have one; dry bags are highly recommended; bring food.

    See you all tomorrow!

    March 21, 2014

    • Shane H.

    • jeff S

      Thanks!

      March 22, 2014

  • sam s.

    I'll bring 130' rope.

    March 21, 2014

  • JASON M.

I'll bring a 200' 8.3 if we need it as well as rapids and webbing. Good bolts in this canyon and only one bolder to wrap with webbing with an optional tree wrap/macrome or downclimb

    March 21, 2014

  • Steve H

If you have rope, please bring it. We'll figure out what we need at the meetup.

    March 20, 2014

    • Marlen

Hi Steve. I just wanted to let you know that I don't own any rope yet so I cannot contribute. I hope that is ok. Looking forward to Sunday! :)

      March 21, 2014

    • Steve H

      No problem. See ya Sunday.

      March 21, 2014

  • Connie

I am buying a wetsuit right now, and I want to know what thickness do u recommend? 7mm or 3mm. Thanks for your help!

    March 20, 2014

    • Connie

      i don't mean tomorrow, i mean Sunday

      March 20, 2014

    • Freddy

4/3 is. 4 mil in the torso and 3 mil in the extremities.

      March 21, 2014

  • Connie

Thanks Steve, I notice the huge difference two. the 7mm is much more warmer, but bulkier and heavier, and the 3mm is thinner and lighter.
what is 4/3? sorry i'm a newbie at Wet Canyon, but I'm excited about Sunday!

    March 20, 2014

    • Connie

ok, i figured it out =) thanks!

      March 21, 2014

  • jeff S

Do you wear clothes over your wet suit?

    March 20, 2014

    • Steve H

It's entirely up to you. I'll probably wear some shorts or pants over the bottom to save the wear and tear on my wetsuit.

      March 20, 2014

  • Freddy

We might see you guys there as some of us will be coming down from West Muir connecting into Lower Eaton that day.

    March 17, 2014

    • Shane H.

I think they will beat us to the confluence lol...

      1 · March 18, 2014

    • Gokul R.

Are you guys doing West Muir on 23rd? Can I join with a friend?

      March 18, 2014

  • Steve H

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
