Figured I would repost this link that shows the locations where filming was done locally. (This originally appeared in the Gazette in April).

I found the movie script here if anyone is interested in looking at it:

It helped me fill in a few gaps. FYI

I also had a very nice time and thanks to Roxanne for her hard work setting up the event and making the plans happen. This film is truly made in Schenectady, Scotia, and Glenville and I recognized local streets. I'm glad the weather cooperated, too.

Very fun evening! Although I was a little disappointed with the film, I really enjoyed listening to and considering everyone's perspective, while eating tasty ice cream! Thank you, Roxanne for the delicious pre-movie dinner and for organizing the event.

I had a very nice time. The movie was better than I expected. Mother Nature also cooperated so we could stay dry waiting in line to get into the movie and later to enjoy ice cream outdoors at the Dairy Circus. The discussion after the film was interesting...quite the mix of thumbs up and thumbs down! Thanks a lot for setting this up, Roxanne.

A good time. Fun hearing all the local names and seeing Schenectady and Scotia on the big screen. Interesting discussion of the movie afterwards at a site featured in the movie. Thanks, Roxanne!

It was fun seeing this movie so near the locations involved. Great fun debating it later, over wonderful ice cream! Thanks Roxanne and thanks to you all for your interesting takes on the movie!

For those still on the waiting list...
I've updated the RSVP's for those I didn't hear back from on the re-confirms so several of you have moved up into the group of 18. If you have already made other plans please update your RSVP accordingly to accommodate the folks still on the wait list that could move up to fill your empty spot. Thank - You.

Hi wait-listers! You are always welcome to proactively self organize plans for meeting & greeting, theater seating and a place to go afterwards. I suggest, the group of interested wait-listers head over to Jumpin' Jacks after the film. It's large enough to accommodate a large group without making a reservation. Plus it's right across from beautiful Collin's Park for a stroll. It's a fun place and it stays open later than Dairy Circus. Thanks for understanding that many factors limit event size (too numerous to explain due to time efficiency). Trust and the positive benefit of the doubt for organizers is always appreciated from our membership base.

Not sure why a wail list. Isnt this open to public? Am I missing something?

    1 · July 12, 2013

    • Mike R

Yes, the movie is open to the public and of course, you are free to attend. The main reason for limiting the group size is because we like to meet afterward to discuss the film. In this case, we are going to Dairy Circus to do that. If there are too many people at a discussion, it is often difficult to accommodate everyone and remain together at one table or area. All of the film group meetups are limited in size to facilitate after film discussions. This movie is quite popular and the wait list is long. This is not normally the case from my experience with this group.

If you are on the Yes list for this and attending this Saturday please comment by Thursday night that you are re-confirming to be there so I know the event day/time works out for you. There are lots of wait-listers that will be moved up into the spots of those not re-confirming.

I have seen it, it's very different, a good film. I'd go again unless you need the spot for someone who hasn't seen it.

The film premiered at the Scotia Cinema last night. Over 100 people waited in line to buy tickets. Amazing, considering how long the movie has been out!

There are several other articles, actually. Here's another that I thought was notable:

The Daily Gazette had a couple of articles about the movie in today's paper:

I've said yes for now, but it depends on the date. Weekends are preferable. Also, I will be travelling from May 18-June8...

I'd need to know more about the film, but I fully agree that waiting for it to arrive at Scotia is an idea worth following. Scotia Cinema, and all like it, need and deserve our support.
