How do you meet new people and make new friends as an adult? The Capital District Singles meet for dinners, happy hours, movies and local events in and around the Capital Region. The average age of a group member is between 25 and 45 but the group is open to everyone. We try to keep our events inexpensive, everything is pay your own way. Attending a movie meetup? You're responsible for purchasing your ticket. Attending Lark Fest or Tulip Fest? You just pay any admission costs. Dinner? Pay for your meal. Our goal is simply to get out of the house, meet new people and have a good time!
Please only RSVP yes for an event if you are honestly making a point to show up. For one thing you should know yourself, if you are often backing out or are not sure, do not RSVP " Yes." You will still know where the event is, show up and check it out. I will try and post more events that do not require a set number attending or are at venues with large common areas. If you RSVP yes for an event requiring reservations and do not show it effects people's livelihood and could lead to the group being blacklisted. If you are a no-show multiple times it could leave to you being asked to leave the group. Please just drop a note if something changes and you are not able to come!
I am trying to bring this group back to a welcoming live and let live approach. Right now, In the words of my friend Bob, "I love everybody."
. I will revisit the "rules"; for now: try to have common courtesy. If you sign up and cannot make it, back out or post a comment. Note that this description will likely be changed, as I must keep in mind what is best for the group.
