A special gaming day for me as the two gamers I started playing with at work both had an opportunity to attend. Sadly Rob had to leave earlier than planned due to a family matter but glad he at least got to get a taste. I know he wants to come back. Since Leslie was there and Jordan wanted to play Legendary we finally got the all Fantastic Four vs Galactus setup I've been wanting to play. Unfortunately, the scheme I chose (Bombard the Earth w/Cosmic Rays or such) made it a difficult game. Our heroes were being KO'd before we could use them and Galactus quickly destroyed the city. Two players were able to defeat Galactus twice before the end so it wasn't impossible, just hard.

Another game I've been playing at work is Carcassonne and since we never play with more than three players there I thought I'd give Leslie a chance to see how it playes with four. Chip joined the three of us from Smash Up and and we added the Traders and Builders expansion. I was at zero for the longest time! I had a huge city, a couple of farmers, and not much else. I did complete an eight point city to finally get on the board but it was slow going after that. I sat bemused as others were able to complete their features. Anticipating a loss, we added up the points at the end and I actually won by one point! Two farmers and a pig gave me the victory. Unfortunately, I realized about two hours later as I was posting pictures we didn't score the trade goods. Leslie probably would've been the winner if we had but at least I pulled into second after lagging most of the game.

Since I had organizer duties to attend to Leslie, Bruce, Sarah, and Wesley played an old game called Dragonmaster, a trick taking game wherein you usually don't want to win tricks. I popped in and out chatting with others while they played games. I enjoyed the story of how Josh had backstabbed Dodd thereby severing their alliance in Starcraft and giving Dustin the win. My revenge on Leslie came when I noticed near the end of the game the person who won the trick wasn't leading the next hand. I pointed out the trick winner should lead and double checked the rules. So I got to tease Leslie right back. :) Enjoyed the day, as always. Enjoyed meeting new to me gamers Wesley and Jeff and ecstatic my work gaming buds could show. Congrats to John for winning the $25 gift card. See you guys in two weeks!

Starcraft will be hitting the table. Probably bring Legacy Gears of Time and a 2v2v2 game of spartacus.
