Another Board Game Madness!!! in the books. Thanks, as always, to the Moody's for their hospitality. Thanks to Chip for the donuts and Kelly for the yummy cupcakes she baked!

The day began slowly and as I lugged in my haul, Dustin and Leslie played a game of Star Realms. Neither had won a game yet so someone's O had to go! They can correct me but I think Dustin finally won a game. By then several others arrived and we sat down for a game of Council of Verona, knowing Leslie wanted to try it. I've yet to get the hang of this game. It's a tightrope trying to score in this game and I may find myself getting frustrated with repeated plays. Thankfully it's quick enough my frustration will be short lived.

Leaving the safety of Camelot to others, I took Jason's place in another game I've been wanting to try, Chronicle. This is a trick taking game that has Love Letter type elements. Each card not only has a suit but an ability as you play it which can alter play. I made a crucial mistake on the last play and accidentally became kingmaker, giving Dustin the win. If I'd've played better I could've prevented both potential winners from winning the round but, alas, it was not done so. Would like to try this again from the start.

Finally, it was about 7:30 and my option was either to find a quick game or leave early. I talked five others into Dixit, a game that used to hit the table often at early BGMs. I took the lead midway through but had some other rabbits on my tail. Finally, thanks to Leslie's card, I was able to get the win. We'll have to play this with Crystal the next time she comes as she loves the game as well.

Also viewed throughout the day were Nothing Personal, Alien Frontiers (been itching to play that again), Smash Up, Agents of Smersh, Small World, and others. See you guys in two weeks. Yes, we are open for business on Memorial Day weekend!

I know it says new people are welcome, but how welcome are they really? :P I don't want to show up and be the only new guy screwing things up for everyone else. I have played pretty much NO board games besides Catan but I wanted to check them out after playing some GoT LCG online.

Yes, new players are always welcome. If you picked up AGoT LCG then you should have no problem picking up the games we play (we actually have some AGoT players in the group). We skew all the way from light strategy to heavy and will do our best to help you find games you like.

Wish I could show up to this, but my dad had to go and have a birthday. =[

Bummer. Not your dad's birthday but the fact I haven't seen you guys in so long.

Yeah had a friend stop by that I haven't seen in ages last time so ended up not being able to show up. Will make it a point to show up next time.
