I can't. Attend this meetup but I am looking forward to future Meetups. I would really like to find Canasta players. Look forward to meeting all of you.

Oh wow, I had no idea this got so much traction. I made this event in the hopes of finding some people. I am in Rogers Park, but I don't have any special space for hosting. Al Shaw, where is the place you'd be hosting? I was thinking a tournament style buy-in, TBH. Would that be ok? If anyone else has ideas for place/time feel free to chime in!

What do you think of Lincoln/Foster in Lincoln Square?

Anyone want to have a texas hold em tournament at Mulligan's at Lincoln/Foster?? Whatever date that would work best for everyone.

I'd be interested in a no limit tournament - it's easy but even it was a limit game I'm ok with it- (Chicago) south loop...

    Still wish this would happen

It doesn't appear that this is actually going to happen, unfortunately.

Well You should be able to have the game you want and like. I will be happy to attend. If anyone wanted to, in addition, have a limit cash game of 2/4 I can host up to 8 people. Either way I will enjoy attending your tourney format when you have it. It sounds like fun.

A buy-in game with chips allows people to play no-limit without risking a lot of cash. No limit is a much better game than limit. One can simply raise blinds every time someone gets knocked out if we want to keep it simple.

I was thinking a limit cash game.
I do not have the timers or structural knowledge to run a tournament with escalating blinds.
A 2/4 limit game lets people play a long time without getting knocked out (which can happen quickly in a no limit tourney) and there is not much in the way of game management.

I am in mount prospect . I would be happy to play in a tournament style game elsewhere though.

I can host a low limit social Holden game for 8 or less people.
    2/4?
