Hello everyone! Looks like I skipped the winter so we'll just call this the Spring League ... and it is upon us! Declan's was fantastic for us... they treat us well, love having us there, and give us 20% off everything... and the parking was shockingly easy. Nobody ever needed a parking permit from me - not even once! See parking details below.
** WARNING - the league is not for players that are very new to the game. New to the group is fine, but if you're new to the game, come to one of our other events!! **
Basic details of the league - you play each week (EVERY Tuesday) with the same partner - if you don't have one already we will pair up others that join without a partner. We will play 3 games per night and both the match win (best of 3) and the number of games won are important. We try to have every team play each other to make it as fair as possible, but depending on interest there may be multiple divisions. After the regular season, the top teams will go to the playoffs. I will announce the number of teams in the playoffs after I know how many teams we have.
Our standard rules apply and can be found in the info section of the meetup... 100 points for nil, sandbags are in play with 100 point penalty at 10 bags (although we do round up when bagging) ... no blind nil allowed. If you must miss a game and need a sub it cannot be someone from the league and all makeup games need to be scheduled ahead of time. The top 3 teams (at least) will be awarded prize money. Entry fee is $25 per person. Again, we will try to have every team play each other - let me see how many people sign up!! :) I'm looking forward to it! Contact me with any questions!! :)
PARKING!!! Miles Galfer has been wonderful enough to put together a map of all the different places you can park (without paying $4 an hour at the meter). There are free zones and residential permit zones. You can buy daily residential permits from me for $1 each or 3 for $2. If you drive to the league, you can keep one in your car in the event that you can't find a free space - or use one every time! Up to you. I will post the map on the site and email it as well.
