The Tri-State CareGiver Group is for anyone who is living through taking care of their aging parents. We offer support, help and advice from others encountering the same problems. We get together and discuss, share our ideas of how to help the person we are caring for and give each other ways of helping reduce the stress in our own lives ~and ~ very importantly, how to find some joy and laughter in our experiences.
Babyboomers are now starting to realize the effects on our lives of being in the sandwich generation, of taking care of our elderly parents and our own children. Some of us have siblings who do not help. This group fills the gap of their absence and the support we need. Perhaps our parents are in homes or cared for by others and we want to discuss our feelings about our aging parents. We are here to discuss all aspects of adults with elderly parents.
This group is growing into a fabulous host of ideas and knowledge, along with the comradery we all need during these times. In supporting each other we will find new friends in our lives!
Since I started this group, my Dad has passed. I asked our members if they wanted me to keep this group going. There answer was "yes". So, for the members and in tribute to my Dad, we are still going strong.
