Practical Fire: Making Firestarters, Stoves, Lanterns and Lamps

Instructor: Kevin McGee
Cost: $25 including materials

In this class you will learn to make and leave the class with:

Fire-starters made from common materials to help you start campfires, fireplaces, and charcoal grills easily

Portable, practical cooking stoves for cooking meals or boiling water. Some of these efficiently burn alcohol, others burn sticks and twigs found abundantly everywhere

Lanterns and lamps that use several different types of fuel

There are lots of fun, safe, and practical ways we can put fire to work for us, from lighting fires to cooking food to providing light. Everything we will make in this class is made from common materials; many of these materials you probably already have.

Fire mastery is one of the most important skills to learn, these items will be very useful when backpacking, camping, in a survival situation, or even when the power goes out.

We could use some more wire hangers if anyone has any extra, I couldn't find any at the stores

I (coincidentally) have a bag of them in my car, so I will bring them for the occasion. : )

Wow... wire hangers. As in clothes hangers? I can get enough of those to hang a fence with.

Thanks for a great class. I have so much to think about now, so many new and improved options for packing and cooking.

Had to back out, I didn't see that a fee was involved. Perhaps next time.
