A club for doodle heads to socialise and draw actors and models in costume, character and motion.

Who is this group for?

If you are a creative of any discipline, working with a cartoon style you are welcome to apply to join the group. You might be a cartoonist, or maybe a musician who makes music for cartoons, or a painter, or even a tattooist? Just click on the Join button and give a little time to fill in the questions.

Main focus of the group

The main activitiy in the group is surprise, surprise, drawing! However, it's a bit more than that... We almost always go for a drink after a session and it's easy to get chatting with people and to make connections. So... it's a CLUB!!! A bit more than just drop in sessions. This is a special group and it's going places.

What kind of drawing?

Dynamic and gestural figure drawing.



Opportunity to draw or photograph a model in action and in character poses.



Quick poses from 1 - 10 minutes



Poses to request. eg model expresses anger or model flies through the air (ha ha ok, balances on a box?).



Sequential poses (movement broken down into a sequence of related poses).



Clothed / costumes / nude



Models vary. We book actors, performers and professional life-models.







Generally sessions aren't classes, we just get on and draw. We do share tips on technique, especially at the end.



Planning to schedule some master classes this year.

A room / space / studio with comfortable chairs and preferably decent light.



Look out for 'Cartoon Fig on Tour' we'll be guesting at some terrific new venues. First stop was Th1ng animation company, next stop is The City Arts and Music Project' cafe bar in Hoxton.

2 hours, usually around 6.30pm - 8.30pm or 2pm on a weekend day.
