Introduction

I WORK IN A HOSPITAL AND DRAW QUIRKY SCENES OF PEOPLE WORKING. I HAVE BEEN APPROPACHED BY A NEURO SURGEON TO DO QUIRKY SCENES FOR A BROCHURE. I CONSIDER MYSELF A CARTOONIST. I NEED TO BE ATTACHED TO A GROUP FOR STIMULATION IN CARTOON WORK.

It's really, really appreciated if you take a little time to upload a profile pic and answer the questions below!

I DO GO TO A PAINTING GROUP ACROSS THE ROAD FROM WHERE I LIVE AND THIS TAKES PLACE EVERY SECOND MONDAY. UNFORTUNATELY OTHER EVENTS ARE INTERFERING WITH THIS SCHEDULE AND WE ONLY MEET ONCE A MONTH

What projects are you working on currently either professionally or as a hobby? Or what would you love to be doing? Nb give a web address if you've got one.

I HAVE NO WEB ADDRESS BUT I HAVE A PORTFOLIO OF MY RECENT WORK. I WOULD LOVE THE STIMULATION OF A CARTOONIST GROUP BUT ALSO TIME TO DO THE PAINTINGS I LOVE DOING. I'M NOT INTO BEING INSTRUCTED BUT CRITING BY SOMEONE I WOULD FIND HELPFUL

Please suggest one idea for a theme for our drawing sessions.

I AM BUSY WITH A PICTURE USING AN INDIAN INK OUTLINE WITH WATERCOLOUR FILL IN OF THE MANAGER OF A HOSPITAL TAKING UP MOP AND BUCKET AND CLEANING FLOORS IN HIS SPARE TIME. I LIKE IF A MODEL COULD DO CERTAIN POSES FOR MY PICTURE WHEN ONE IS AVAILABLE

How did you find out about the Cartoon Figure Drawing group?

I EMAILED THE CURATOR OF THE CARTOON MUSEUM REQUESTING I USE THEIR CHILDRENS CARTOON TEACHING ROOM UPSTAIRS TO WORK IN REGULARLY AS I CANNOT WORK AT HOME. I WAS GIVEN YOUR LINK

What KEITH IRVINE is saying about this Meetup Group

There has been tentative talk of us having an exhibition at Christmas time. Working towards an exhibition is great fun and helps with motivation.

  • Gordon Bennett!! Respect to the Banker's beliefs, but I feel like Halloween debunks the idea of the paranormal and makes it comical rather than elevating it. I think the idea of it is simply to say 'boo to a ghost' I don't think it makes people actually believe in ghosts does it? It's a popular, fun festival, not a cult or religion in itself?
