UPDATED: NOTE CHANGE IN STARTING LOCATION - As a "bonus" ride from our Getting Ready to Ride (GR2R) Series, we are having an additional ride on Easter Sunday. Leaving from South Bellevue Park-n-Ride (http://goo.gl/maps/yarVe ) at noon, we will head out on a loop going through Beaux Arts and around Mercer Island. So in the spirit of "truth in labeling", we are calling it The Easter Island Ride because a) it's Easter b) our route is around Mercer Island, and c) we are going to be riding it!! This is truly a fun route with views of Lake Washington, interesting homes, and a very popular riding route around the Island. Rides will be conducted at three paces and you can select the pace that best fits for you - we will lead groups with paces for Leisurely (10-12 mph); Steady (12-14 mph); and Moderate (14-16 mph). The route map is at http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2234205 . Printed cue sheets will be available at the start (although we will send out info on the cue sheets earlier so you can print them yourself) and can be obtained electronically by Friday noon prior to the ride from the Ride Leader ( cue sheets uploaded at http://files.meetup.com/3386582/Easter_Island_Ride_31_Mar_2013.pdf ). Please plan to be ready to ride by 11:45 so we can process the ride waivers, do equipment checks, provide the safety briefing, and discuss the route. This bonus ride should provide a great launching point for other training and daily rides for the paces offered. Please consult the Cascade Bicycle Club Daily Rides web page for information for riders (http://www.cascade.org/EandR/rides_newcomer_instruction.cfm) as helmets and so forth are required for the ride.
If you enjoyed our GR2R events or want to just join in, this is a great "last" ride of this series for you.
Please have appropriate equipment and gear to support yourself in the event of a flat tire.
