ColdFusion & Dreamweaver CS5 for Non-Programmers

This is an introduction to ColdFusion geared towards those who use Dreamweaver to design web sites, but have done little or no programming. Why ColdFusion? ColdFusion looks very much like HTML. If you know HTML, you can learn ColdFusion.

We'll kick things off with how to install ColdFusion on your laptop or desktop. Next, we'll explore the wizards and menus in Dreamweaver CS5 that are geared towards ColdFusion development. Finally, we'll look at additional tags that are simple to use, but provide enormous power. These will include sending emails, generating PDF's, uploading files, manipulating images and how to secure web pages with a basic login form.

Sid Maestre is a ColdFusion developer with over a decade experience. His passion for cutting edge technology lead him from web design to rich internet applications (RIA) and now mobile development. He's manages the Bay Area ColdFusion User Group and will present at Adobe MAX on "Building mobile applications with jQuery" in October 2010.
