We are hitting Borgata and the Boardwalk, baby!
We'll be strolling the Atlantic City Boardwalk (the world's original Boardwalk), eating at buffets, watching free lounge shows, and hanging out in the spectacular Borgata Casino Hotel. And gambling!
I have been to Atlantic City about 60 times, so I know my way around. These are the best days ever for an Atlantic City casino trip! AC has got a magnificent new casino hotel, the Borgata, with stunning architecture, a hot Vegas vibe, and Borgata Babes (who have got their own calendar).
There's a great new mall attached to the Tropicana, called The Quarter. It's got tons of terrific, new restaurants, bars and nightclubs, as well as shopping.
There's a beautiful new shopping, restaurant and nightclub pier -- The Pier at Caesars. Built by Caesars and extending 900 feet out into the Atlantic Ocean (with a street address of "One Atlantic Ocean"), it's a fantastic place to eat, party and shop. The top level is all upscale restaurants and nightclubs, and has a stunning view of the beach, the ocean and the rest of the casino hotels all lit up at night. And at the end of the pier, every hour on the hour, they've got a spectacular light, music and water show -- that's free.
There's also a great new pedestrian mall in the middle of the city called "The Walk". The Walk specializes in designer outlet stores, and I've gotten lots of great clothes there at bargain prices.
Besides all this, one of the most fun things to do is walk from casino to casino and catch the free lounge acts. It's fun to see the casino lounge singers and performers and hang out in these swanky lounges.
I am happy to be co-leading this event with John Broughton. This Party in Atlantic City is being sponsored by a total of six Meetup groups that John and I organize! So get ready for a wild time!!
View our fabulous and detailed Atlantic City itinerary. And feel free to go off and do you own thing at any time, and then meet up with us later!
We'll be meeting at 10:00 AM, on line for the bus at Gate 80 at the Port Authority Bus Terminal. We'll catch the 10:30 AM bus to Caesars at Gate 80.
The first thing you should do when you get there is go to the ticket selling booth (which is close to Gate 80) and buy your round-trip ticket to Atlantic City. The bus is called the Lucky Streak. Be sure to specify that you want a round-trip ticket from the Port Authority to Atlantic City. Tickets are $32 roundtrip, and you usually get back $20 in cash (so the roundtrip ticket ends up costing only $12).
After buying your ticket, look for me, David Greene. I am 6'5" and will be wearing a green baseball cap with the word "Nathan's" on the front in big yellow letters. We'll all be lining up for the 10:30 AM bus at Gate 80.
The great thing about going by Greyhound from the Port Authority is that you can catch Greyhound buses going back from Atlantic City to the Port Authority 24 hours a day. That means that you are not locked in to returning at 6:00 PM, as you are if you take a local "bodega" bus. We are suggesting a 1 AM return time for those of us who want to stay all day and into the night. But feel free to leave earlier or later, at 9 PM, 10 PM, 11 PM, or even 3 AM -- it's up to you! That is the convenience and flexibility of travelling roundtrip from the Port Authority.
Those who wish to travel by car may do so of course. Email me and we'll make arrangements to meet in Atlantic City.
Get ready for a great time in AC!
