My dog has always slept with me. I tried the crate for a week and couldnt stand it.  These types of dogs like to touch and cuddle.

Both of my dogs sleep with me.  It is simply my preference.  So I'm not one to offer advice.  Good luck!

Always sleep with a cavalier or any other dog in bed. They crave affection. And that's my opinion.

My dog does this also but he is 6. Every night at 4am he starts crying and barking. I'm a softie so I usually take him to sleep with me but my parents don't when I'm not home and no matter what it's like an alarm everyday at 4am. Any advice would be helpful.

Where is the crate? If it's not in your bedroom you might want to try moving it there.

Well, that is probably what he wants.

Hello Group -

My 6 month old cavalier, Ryker, has hit some new  phase and to be frank, it's driving me nuts. Since his very first day at  home at 9 weeks old, he's always been so docile and happy to be in his  crate at night. Never had any problems before. About 2 weeks ago he woke  me up with barking at about 12:30pm and then again at 4pm. Each time I  took him outside to pee but he barely even needed to go. Now it's become  a regular thing for him to start barking 30 mins after he goes into the  crate and he pretty much doesn't stop until the next morning. I'm  actually afraid of getting kicked out of my apt because others must be  hearing it. Not sure what to do here but I'd love some advice as I need  my sleep and not sure how much longer I can handle this. Sleeping with me on the bed is not an option. I'd rather not get into the habit.

Thanks
Dan
