I have the same issue with my two cavs- but I have to have rugs all over because I live in a loft and the main rug is 8x10 feet and it seems there is an accident every other day. I am not sure what to do but clean. They are not attention starved either!

Re: [cavalierspaniel-48] peeing in the house?
Maybe time to get a new rug.
Once they’ve started marking their spot on the rug, it’s pretty hard to end that behavior with the scents on the rug.
Once I got rid of my rug, my Female Cavalier stopped peeing. (she was 6 yrs old when she started doing that.) She stopped once the rug was gone. She’s 10 now and hasn’t been a problem since.

I have a 4 1/2 year old male Blenheim and he's started peeing in the house - something he's never done before. It first occurred a few times about a month ago. I took him to the vet, they ran a lot of tests and determined that it was behavioral. So I started taking him out more.
Today, he did it again. Three times! He was outside a lot today and had many opportunities to pee. As far as I know, it's always on the same rug (a beige sisal). Has anyone else experienced something like this? Am I not giving him enough attention? Could there be a medical issue here that the vet didn't see last time? I'd love to hear any thoughts.
