Those of you who can, please Join us for a weekday trip to the Spectacular Grayson Highlands State Park in SW Virginia where we will have some great little hikes out to Buzzard Rock Overlook and take Massey Gap trail out across the highlands where the views are so spectacular, it's comparable to the Big Skys of Montana. Oh, and did I mention you'll prob get to see some wild ponies as well while hiking :).
The hiking is easy to moderate, with the ability to make it a little harder if you choose to climb the boulders for the even better views (which I highly recommend). Just need to bring a moderate amount of water since there is no shade in the hiking areas, be prepared for mild but rapidly changing weather possibilities (bring a coat or fleece in case drops into the 50-60 degree range in the highlands). Weather looks good though w/Sunny skies forecasted and only 20% chance of isolated showers!
You can meet us at the park if you choose, otherwise the rally point will be Food City parking lot in Elizabethton, TN where we will gather and Car pool as much as possible. Driver's please comment that you don't mind to drive and anyone hitching a ride PLEASE donate a little gas money if possible, thanks!
