Worley's Cave - Boy Scout Loop

  • Feb 2, 2014 · 10:00 AM
  • My House

OK, we are going to do Worley's cave as long as there are a minimum of 3 people attending.

Worley's Cave is in Bluff City.  For more information on the cave, look at "PLACES" on our discussion board.  It will tell you what to expect and what to bring.

But here's a quick breakdown.

About a 3 hour caving experience.

Bring warm clothes.  You will get wet to about waist deep.  So bring a towel and a change of clothes.

Water and snack/lunch, etc.

Boots that cover your ankles with good treads.

There is a $5 entrance fee to the cave.

A couple of dollars to reimburse NSO for your headlamp batteries (if you use NSO gear) is always appreciated but not mandatory.

Thanks.  That's about it.  See you there!

Can't think of anything else I would have rather done today. Great day with great old friends and made some new ones too!

    Hey Guys,

Sorry About this, but as it turns out, Jim Beck has a lot of the caving gear. I did not realize this until today as I was gathering the gear up. I only have 3 headlamps to loan. I have plenty of helmets but only 2 sets of kneepads and 3 or 4 sets of gloves.

And guess what... Jim is in KY. So, here's the unfortunate situation. Gear will be given out to dues paying members by seniority first if any need it. Then trial members.

So, if you have your own gear... PLEASE bring it. I REALLY want everyone to be able to go.

    Sorry,

    Aaron Gong

Hi Aaron, do you think this cave is ok for my 10 yr old daughter. She is game for getting wet and she has a decent pair of boots.

Oh, Kelley, sorry, just say this. Yes... she should be fine. But I am kinda limited on gear. Jim has it and he is out of town. If you have a headlamp for her that will be fine.
