Been a dog owner for almost a year now and I am still learning. I know that just walking the same neighborhood each day can get boring so I hope to add variety to my dog's life and socialize him more.
Khazi
He is a Shiba Inu and his birthday is in June, I don't know what day so I will just say 15th. He turned 2 this month.
Khazi can be an energetic little dog but because I have life down to a solid routine during the week he turns into a couch potato during the day (even when I am home). He is a vigorous chewer and loves to play fetch with his toys (or what's left of them) but only does that inside. When he is outside he just wants to sniff around and chase anything that will run from him (he loves to chase leaves the most). I think the most fun we have together is when we go to the dog park, I get to talk to other owners there and laugh at all the antics of the other dogs, and Khazi gets to run and chase all he wants. As for how we met, his previous owner who got him from a breeder was having a baby and they couldn't handle two dogs at once anymore and so they put Khazi up for adoption. I met them at the dog park and got to play and see Khazi and fell in love with him, and even though he promptly chewed most of the house after I got him home, I could never give him up.
Was looking for groups on Meetup.com to join and found you that way.

Welcome to the group Edward.
Hey Edward, My name is Lisa and I'm an event organizer for CDOG.I have a black and tan Shiba named Guinness, who is also 2 yrs old. It's always a pleasure to meet more shibas around, I look forward to meeting you both on a walk sometime. If you are ever interested in meeting more shibas or talking with other shiba owners, there is a Shiba group on facebook called the Washington DC Shiba Meetup.I've met them in Bethesda before at a dogpark, it was really cool to see like 10 shibas playing together.
