Hello all,

Bon fête nationale! There are a few upcoming events I'd like to draw to your attention.

First off, music. This Saturday, at the Black Watch Armoury, we have "Songs and music of Scotland". Performed by Isla St Clair and the Black Watch of Canada Pipes and Drums. Those of you who watched British TV in the 80s might remember Isla St Clair from her appearances on the Generation Game (http://www.islastclai....
Tickets are $15 each, and the concert starts at 7.30 (doors open at 6.30).

For those who prefer their music a little more modern, may I suggest you get your tickets now for Glasvegas (http://www.glasvegas....) who come to town with the Kings of Leon this September (Sept 16 at the Bell center). These guys are great, and very very Glaswegian. I can't recommend them enough. If anyone wants to go, let me know.

In other news, the July meetup is almost upon us. We're going to meet in Parc Lafontaine again, as summer will be in full swing, and we want to make the most of it. We're meeting in the North East corner this time, where there's a fenced off area with picnic benches, (which will be nearer to the toilets). Bring something to eat, and of course something to drink (Quebec law allows for drinking in public as long as it is to accompany food).

That's all for now. As always, full details are available on our calendar (http://www.meetup.com.... Hope to see you all soon.

Derek.
