New Moon Circle

Come join us in the Community Garden, in the shade of the Bohdi tree, for quiet musical inspiration. All traditions welcome to share their experience with the lunar calendar. A time for meditation and community sharing through music. Families welcome with parental supervision -- please take responsibility for your children, as other adults do not participate in the circles in order to be your babysitters.

Donations accepted on a sliding scale. 7pm - 10pm when circle is on a weekday, later on weekends.  We are located next door to Dandelion Communitea Cafe and they offer great beverages including tea beer and wine, and vegetarian food.

At the school, we seek to connect our community with the planetary cycles that affect all of us, even in urban environments, such as seasonal cycles, planting cycles, and lunar cycles. It is our belief that by living in greater harmony with the natural cycles that guide us, we develop a greater relationship to the planet and thus it becomes easier to walk our path lightly upon her.  To help our community connect with the lunar cycle, we celebrate the New Moon and Full Moon with community circles. These family-friendly events feature drumming, dance, chanting, singing, local artists, healing, and much more. The energy of the circles shifts with the lunar cycles and is different each time.  All traditions and faiths come together to honor the gifts of our shared community, planet, and universe in music, rhythm, and fellowship. Meditation, massage, reiki, flutes, guitars, frame drums, tablas, and other musical instruments of a softer volume are welcome. Come sit in the garden and enjoy a moment to heal and commune each New and Full Moon. Bring an instrument and a friend, or make new ones around the circle.

Sponsored by the Florida School of Holistic Living

Donations gratefully accepted to keep the circles going - find the drum, share from your heart, and pass it around

There were more drums this time, but people weren't very friendly...only one person spoke to me although others noded their heads. Those who knew each other talked, but didn't speak to others.
