Meetup Description: Join us this weekend for an incredible celebration of community and the planet - Central Florida Earth Day!
Over 250 organizations and businesses will gather at Lake Eola in Downtown Orlando on Saturday May 2 from 10 am - 6 pm to share their good work for the planet in our community.
Live music, panel discussions, and great food set the stage for an exciting day. This is a full day of fun not to be missed - Earth Healing meditation and drumming, Local Farmers, Living Lettuce, Free Herb Seeds, and so much more!
Florida School of Holistic Living and the Healing Arts Sanctuary are proud to sponsor the event's special Earth Healing area - a space to join with others in music and meditation for the healing of ourselves and the planet. On this important celebration of the Earth, we have the unique opportunity to come together to cultivate our energy and intention for the healing of all beings on this planet. Join us for activities to deepen your relationship with yourself, with the planet, and with those around you.
Russel Buddy Helm will open our circle at 10:15 am with an Earth Healing rhythm circle. Buddy is former percussionist for the Allmann Brothers and Chuck Berry, and travels the country sharing his tools for rhythmic healing. Please bring your drums and percussion instruments, an open mind and heart as we explore the healing energy of ancient rhythms through drum meditations and chants, and use these to share our healing energy with the planet and each other. Throughout the day, Buddy will lead us through the drum in exercises to explore the connection between healing of self and the planet.
Instructor Kathy Ford will lead us in activities to bring ourselves back into balance in order to bring balance back to the earth. Join her for Earth art activities, to create a special memory of the space we'll create together at Earth Day.
Our friends Karim and Tony from the Healing Arts Sanctuary will have meditation pillows, blankets, crystals, and musical instruments to create a space for open chanting, meditation, music, and healing. A labyrinth will be set up for you to experience, and we will close with a drum circle led by our African Drumming teacher Jason Isla at 5:30 pm.
Join us to reconnect in your relationship with nature, and experience how healing ourselves and our relationship with the planet can be a powerful force in healing the imbalances of the Earth.
All this, and so so much more, at this free event this Saturday May 2 from 10 am - 6 pm. For directions and more information, visit www.cfearthday.org. Be sure to stop by and say hello!
