Proposed Plan:
1. Sat - Take slab to Skyline Drive to Luray Caverns. 293 miles and 5 hours 45 minutes in the saddle. Saturday A pass for Motorcycles for Skyline Dr is $10. Pass valid for day of purchase and next 6 days.

2. Sun - Skyline Dr to the Blue Ridge Pkwy. Then Rt. 81 to Wytheville. 273 mile 6 hours 42 min in the saddle. Sunday

3. Mon - We will tour sections of the Blue Ridge Pkwy and then the slab to Robbinsville. 280 miles 6 hours in the saddle. Monday

4. Tue– Tail of the Dragon, loop back through Great Smokey Mountains Nat'l Park. – 163 miles, 3 hours 35 min. Tuesday

5 Wed - Helen, GA. The roads getting there are very nice. 200 miles, 5 hours. Helen is a re-creation of an alpine village. Wednesday We will take GA 348 (Richard B. Russell Scenic Highway) on the return trip.

6. Thur– Cherohala Skyway, Bald River Falls, 90 miles, 3 hours 10 minutes. Thursday

7. Fri- Slab for the return journey. 781 miles 13 hours 20 min in the saddle split over two days. Arrive home on Saturday. Return Trip

Great trip. Even the torrential rain couldn't "dampen" our spirits. Nothing like riding the Dragon in the rain. So many great roads in the area. We need to make another trip to ride the rest of them. I also want to do the Cherahola Skyway when I can see more than 1 foot in front of the bike. 2300 miles and not one bike problem.

Very impressed with the roads and scenery down there! I’ve ridden thru Utah and Arizona and I’d have to say Skyline Drive, Smokey Mts, Cherohala Skyway and Blue Ridge Pway are every bit as scenic, if not more. Agree with George, I want to go back. We had a lot of rain on this trip, but I never felt uncomfortable or even wet for that mater. Traveling with the group made it fun, and you know what... the rain gear works well! Everybody’s riding skills were on par & dependable, and there were good laughs at meals and breaks. Big thanks to Debbie, Martin and George: you're such great traveling companions. It was a great trip for me with many fond memories. Love to do it all again.

What a great trip. Really had a good time with good company. Couldn't have asked for better partners for this trip :-) 3 times through the Dragon in one day :-) and one time in the rain, couldn't have asked for more. Had an encounter with a "bear", very close call :-( The roads and scenery were just amazing, wanna go back again ASAP :-) Thanks Debbie for good planning, thanks Martin for staying with me ;-) and thanks Don for leading us back :-)
