CENTRAL ARIZONA BIKERS MEETUP NETWORK
Enjoying the roads of the Southwest. Most Central Arizona Bikers Meetup Network rides originate in the beautiful Central Arizona 'Mile-Hi' town of Prescott. Prescott the home of 'Whiskey Row' and the 'The World's oldest Rodeo'. Groups of riders have been ridin' out of town here since the 1800's. No need to ride hours to hook up with a riding group in the Phoenix area. We are not a 'club'. We are a 'network' of riders that occasionally enjoy riding with others. All members of the network are 'Organizers'. Organizers can post their events or rides on our calendar. Members can also post 'notes' about what is going on in their circle on our calendar as well. All members receive automatic emails announcing newly scheduled events or rides that are posted on our calendar. All members also have access to the message board and can start their own threads as long as the topic and contents abide by our charter guidelines which can be reviewed below. All members pay an annual $15 in dues and they are 'non-refundable'. Membership dues are used for the cost of the meetup group including the cost of website maintenance, group promotion, and group functions. To review some of our 'photo albums' of our past rides take a look at our photo page. Motorcycle enthusiasts can also visit http://www.centralari... to see what the CAB Network is all about. CENTRAL ARIZONA BIKERS MEETUP NETWORK GUIDELINES
CAB GUIDELINES
MISSION:
To promote an atmosphere of safe riding, social enjoyment and building healthy riding relationships. While many of these guidelines are considered 'normal' respectful behavior, it is with any network there will be those that do not behave in this manner.
These guidelines are stated so that there is a very clear understanding, that deviation of these guidelines could result in removal from the network.
I. BOARD ETIQUETTE
a. Respect each individual opinion. This does not mean there needs to be agreements, just an overall understanding that everyone is entitled to have one.
b. No spam material will be distributed using the message board, email, or on rides.
c. Promotions need to be approved by emailing the chief organizer. The chief organizer reserves the right to say no.
II. RIDE ETIQUETTE
a. 'RSVP' is an important tool of each organized group ride or function.
i. Many times organizers have arranged ahead of time with local restaurants, bike shops, hotels, etc. These places arrange for food for the RSVP'd 'yes' number of attendees. It is embarrassing, wasteful, and disrespectful when people do not show if they have RSVP'd 'yes'.
ii. When you RSVP that you will be attending a ride, SHOW UP. If you change your mind about attending change your RSVP in enough time for organizers to see it on the site or contact the Organizer immediately. Not changing your RSVP for an event or ride effects other members besides yourself.
iii. Come prepared. No member will be a drain on any other member of the group. 'Pandering' by members will not be tolerated by any member of the group. If you cannot afford to ride with group, don't go on the ride. Save your nickels for the next ride.
iv. All bikes MUST be in working order when showing up for a scheduled ride. If not, do not ride. Regular service is YOUR responsibility, not the responsibility of the other members in the group on the ride. The Ride Organizer needs to make sure that everyone on the ride is fit to ride. Otherwise they cannot go on the ride.
v. It is understood that ATM and Credit Cards fail sometimes and that some places do not take 'plastic'. Riders must come with alternative cash if their credit cards are not accepted. If money is borrowed, pay it back immediately. If you do not have the money in the first place, do not go on the ride or borrow the money.
b. All rides will meet at specific times at stated locations.
c. All rides will begin no later than 5 minutes after the time that is listed as the 'start time'. The 'start time' is the 'Kickstands-Up' time. The 'meetup time' is usually 30 minutes before 'Kickstands Up' time. Occasionally the organizer will list a time earlier than that if we are having an optional breakfast.
d. A 'schedule' is important especially on long rides. The 'Ride Captain', usually the Organizer of the ride, is responsible for keeping the ride on time.
i. All 'Riders' agree to follow the captain's (or 'ride organizer') directions.
ii. The captain or organizer agrees that rest stops will be no less than 15 minutes. The ride captain will schedule accordingly. Unscheduled stops shall be kept to a minimum.
e. If a rider decides to depart from the group at any time they should tell the ride captain, call him on the cell phone, or write a note to that effect on a piece of toilet paper or whatever and attach it to the captain's bike. When this does not happen it causes undue worry and concern thus affecting the entire group on the ride.
III. MEMBER ETIQUETTE
a. Controversial topics such as politics or religion shall be discouraged however individual conversations or opinions whall be respected in the spirit of tolerance.
PLEASE MAKE A NOTE OF THESE GUIDELINES. IF WE ALL ATTEMPT TO FOLLOW THEM WE WILL HAVE MORE ENJOYABLE RIDES TOGETHER. IF A MEMBER NOTICES THAT ANOTHER MEMBER IS NOT FOLLOWING THE GUIDELINES WHILE ON A RIDE THAT MEMBER SHOULD REMIND THE MEMBER AND REFER THEM TO THE GUIDELINES. See more stats
