Hangout, volunteer at soup kitchens, speak at school assemblies, build a house, put up secular posters around town.
Being an atheist means that I am not willing to be satisfied with a single potential answer to anything without having a serious reason to eliminate other potential answers, but especially to some of life's biggest questions. It also means that I do not exclude anything from deep scrutiny.
Probably 3-4 years but I really only "embraced" my atheism last summer.
