I believe that good things derive from community and discussion. From an atheist perspective, those opportunities can be more limited than other groups. Could be fun?
Networking, discussion, family activities (i.e. bbqs/picnics). Things that bring positive connections and thought.
Thinking about the world and it's even smallest questions with reason and humanity. Doing my best to clear up ambiguity and eliminate bigotry. ;-)
Formally, since college. Informally, my entire life. I'd always kept religion at a distance and respectfully wondered why it made sense to anyone.
The more diversity the better. Solidarity is strengthening and a fun challenge for so many differing opinions.
Hi Zach, glad you found us! BAM is an outreach program of the Center for Inquiry. Membership in CFI is exploding. It's an exciting time to be an atheist! You can view our local calendar of events by looking at the CFI Portland meetup page. We look forward to meeting you : )
