Understanding Healthcare Inequities: Race, Social Class, Education

Understanding Healthcare Inequities: Race, Social Class, Education—Wednesday, October 23, 7:00 pm, Center for
Inquiry-Indiana, 350 Canal Walk, Suite A, Indianapolis. Speaker: Cleveland G.
Shields, Associate Professor, Director, Center on Poverty and Health Inequities
College of Health of Human Sciences, Purdue University, West Lafayette IN.

Prof. Shields will discuss the state of healthcare inequities in the U. S.
looking at both access to healthcare and health outcomes. Then he will examine
the research data on the effects of race, social status, and education on
healthcare access and health outcomes.  These three factors have both direct and
interactive effects on inequities that are not easy to tease out. Dr. Shields
will discuss some of the studies that have attempted to do just that.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
