Group Organizer
Portland, OR
Announcing a new Meetup for CFI Portland Meetup Group!

What: Dialog between World Views
When: Thursday, May 19, 2011 7:00 PM

Where: University of Oregon
Allen Hall, Room 221
Eugene, OR 97401

CFI will participate in the Alliance of Happy Atheists' first annual Philosophical Discussion Panel at the University of Oregon!

This year's panel will be a moderated discussion forum where people of various viewpoints on religion will discuss and share perspectives on good and evil, ethical behavior, systems of morality, and more. We will have our panelists tackle such questions as:

- Is morality a product of good intentions or good actions?
- What is the best way to combat evil?
- If any, what are the rewards for doing good and punishments for doing evil?
- If any, to what degree is ignorance of the law/morality behavior an excuse for immoral behavior?

Panelists in attendance include:

- Pastor Warren Light - Wesley Foundation
- Fr. Augustine - St. Thomas More Newman Center
- Harinder Kaur Khalsa, Minister of Sikh Dharma; President, Interfaith Prayer Service International
- Paul Bessemer, Oregon Hillel
- Sylvia Benner, CFI Portland (to be confirmed)

AHA!'s own Tony Dundon, former parliamentarian of AHA!, will serve as our moderator. After the panelists talk, join us for a Q&A session between the panelists and you, the audience member.

Check it out!
