My vote: No, it's not important.

The only functional result of atheists protesting the proxy naming of this street, will be to piss almost everyone else and make both religious and "don't care" citizens mad at atheists for making this an issue. We should carefully choose our battles. Don't let the hotheads among us draw us into pointless conflicts.
