One can only hear "so when are you having her baptized?" so many times before beginning to think seriously about how to raise a child in a way that is true to your values as a non-believer in a believer-world. We are looking for some help!
My child (soon to be children)'s ages. They are too young for RSS, where a lot of the momentum seems to be right now (yea!). I've like to see more for parents of the younger set (<5). I have not yet taken the initiative to start something myself.
RSS (in a few years), general camaraderie with other non-religious families, playgroups/meetups for younger kids (<5)

I want to teach my daughter how to think, not what to think- in all aspects of her life. If she grows up and critically determines that she wants religion in her life, I will be happy knowing that she's asked the questions and questioned the answers
daughter, 3 (born October 2006), daughter, expected Feb 2010
Are you still interested in a secular Sunday School for the younger kids (<5)? We are thinking of starting something, probably in our home, probably on Saturday, probably 30 min or so for kids then snacks and possibly an adult-level discussion . . . would that interest you? :) Shelley
Hi Melissa! I know Zoe would love the Earth Scouts. She is already very eco-conscious, and we have not even "taught" her about it. I guess she is just learning by example--yay!
Hi Melissa, I'm in Beaverton/Aloha so can't be too far from you, and I've offered my "schoolhouse" for starting the Secular Playgroup (to serve families with kids too young for Sunday School). Interested?
Great to meet you at the library Melissa! Hopefully we'll see you at another meetup or around the neighborhood.
