Humanities Institute - Difficult Dialogs: Human Trafficking ... (not cfi event)

The Difficult Dialogues Spring Public Forum, "Human Trafficking, Forced Labor, and Our Consumer Choices" features a panel discussion with Texas experts and activists, followed by small-group discussion. Nationally-recognized scholar Dr. Noel Busch-Armendariz, professor of Social Work and Associate Dean for Research and Director of the Institute on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault will moderate the discussion. Participants include Dr. Bruce Kellison, Associate Director of the University of Texas IC2 Bureau of Business Research; Shelton Green, founder and CEO ofGood & Fair Clothing Company; and Sulamita Mora, case worker at Refugee Services of Texas.

In 2013, Texas ranked second in the nation in calls placed to the National Human Trafficking Hotline. As recent arrests in Houston and Louisiana demonstrate, human trafficking isn't something that happens in remote places: forced labor might contribute to the clothes we wear, the electronics we use, the food we buy at the grocery store, even our restaurant take-out meals.

Light refreshments served.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
