Re: [CFI-Austin] Looking for volunteers to critique/proofread my "spiritual" nonfiction book, Mere Theosophy

Well, hello again!

It is interesting to have this sent to all, and I would love to hear some of the responses! I am sure I do not have the higgs /botham theory anything  close to right, so if anyone replies with info I would be interested to hear it, same with any changes I suggested. Please understand these were quick replies and first responses.

I thought about it over the next few days, and I do like what you are saying. I like the idea of a presentation of such things for teens.

I feel that the believe in faith healing is under great pressure from big businesses ( agro, science, insurance, healthcare) and our government is suing people who try to faith heal or self heal with medicines. This might be of interest in the article as so many faiths are under this pressure, but I understand you were trying to restrict yourself to a short article, and realize you had to leave a few things out, like it or not!

Good luck, and thank you for sharing this with me. It was an enjoyable read!

Sincerly,
Willow

The  timing of this planet.has been based on radio active wave particles in items predating history as we Europeans know it. It actually goes back 300 million years of earth time creation and humans showing up as early as 70,000 years ago. Again, this info needs to be updated. A week or two of watching the science channel can fulfill this kind of updating need.
As early as we can find people on earth, we also find religious items.
We may not understand how a rain dance was done, but according to the beliefs you mentiioned, which I also believe, we can create our reality with belief. If all believed in the rain dance, it could happen. We may scoff at these early religions, but who is to say they were not right? How much more rediculous is it to believe that Jesus sits on a throne next to god just because it was decided by the pope in the meeting at Mendicino in 680 ad?

Hi Willow(?),
I'd love to have you read my manuscript.  I really appreciate it.  It's pretty short, only 70 pages.  Any feedback appreciated.  If I need to add something, a chapter, whatever, just let me know.  Let me know your full name and I'll happily put you in the acknowledgments.

Thanks,
Ken

Hello fellow Center For Inquiry - Austin member,I've written a short manuscript (12,000 words) debunking organized religion and offering up pantheism and panentheism as viable alternatives (God is the universe or the universe is in God) using the works of Mike Dooley (Infinite Possibilities) and Richard Bucke (Cosmic Consciousness) as a basis for discussion.I'm getting close to publication and wanted to run it by a few people to get feedback to make the best book I can. In exchange for your help, I'd give you due credit in the Acknowledgements section of the book and 5 coupons for copies of the eBook when it is published.I can be reached at [address removed] or visit my website, CaptainAttitude.com.Thanks so much for your help! Ken
