Cerebral Cinema - John Dies at the End

Die hard cinephiles, academic film enthusiasts, and casual movie goers looking to expand there movie going experience welcome. Cerebral Cinema is a group geared towards getting together to watch a variety of a eclectic cinema ranging from highbrow indie fare to genre blockbusters. Following each theatrical outing, our group will congregate to discuss the film over food or drinks in a casual laid-back environment. Discussion topics will center around the film's plot and themes, the past filmography of the cast and crew, and the film at hand's cultural relevance. Let's get acquainted and talk cinema.

Some love the film, others hate it, but coming from the audacious writer of This Book is Full of Spiders as well as the director of Phantasm and Bubba Ho-Tep, the comedic horror/fantasy John Dies at the End is anything but boring. Let's see the film together, form our own opinions on the aforementioned feature and discuss the rather eclectic career of genre filmmaker Don Coscarelli over drinks at Double Down Saloon. We'll meet outside the theater at 7:30 to get acquainted and purchase tickets prior to a 7:45 screening. Be there or be quadrilateral.

John Dies at the End is rated R and stars Rob Mayes, Chase Williamson, Clancy Brown and Paul Giamatti. As venue times are subject to change, time of event is also subject to change.

*The first three people to show up and agree to do Double Down Saloon's infamous "Ass Juice" shot with me after the film get FREE tickets (everyone else can purchase their ticket for the bargain price of $13.00).*

I told my girlfriend what we were seeing and she said "what's that?" so I told her it's by the director of Bubba Ho-tep, and she said "we HAVE to see that." :)

I'll keep everyone posted via this event page (what shirt I'm wearing, where in front of the theater or inside the theater we're gathered, what row we're seated in, etc.).
