Metacognitive Brunch: a discussion group

Fancy a midday helping of open-ended intellectual exchange? Join a small group of aspiring critical thinkers for great, inexpensive food and lively discussion of topics relating to skepticism, secularism, science, philosophy, psychology, and other matters of the mind. We will meet outside, take a head count, and head inside as a group at 11:30 a.m. sharp. (If you arrive late, you're welcome to join us if sufficient seating is available, but there are no guarantees!) This event is tentatively scheduled for the second and fourth Sunday of each month.

On Sats, this site indicated you were still going to Dojo where I,
of course, went; I guess I was the only one. Pays to have a phone
I imagine. See you next time.

So sorry about that. There were messages posted in the comments indicating the new location, but the header of the webpage wasn't changed in time, and it still mentioned the Dojo. Unfortunate miscommunication.

Great meeting. 13 people turned out, including several new visitors and a couple of family drag-alongs. Conversation was lively and everybody seemed to have a good time. Thanks to everyone for coming out, and especially to our new visitors - hope to see you again!

There's a street faire going on on this block. Rodeo is on the corner behind the gyro stand. Come! Join us!

Rodeo Bar sounds fine but it turns out I do not have free will - I can't make it this time. Hope to catch the next one.

There are a bunch of voices for the Rodeo, and I think it's easier to get into than some of the other places mentioned. So we'll do that this week, and see what the future brings.

Thus, it is declared: The People's Revolutionary Metacognitive Brunch, Sunday, 8/11, at 11:30am. (375 3rd Ave. at 27th St.)

Rodeo Bar doesn't seem like brunch is their thing. For me to travel in from NJ, I would want something more interesting. Enjoy and hope to meet the group another time.

Good to have a definitive place and time.

Hi all, I'm the new guy. Has the place and time been finalized? Do they have decent coffee? Is free will an illusion? I digress.

For brunch, cam I suggest The Odeon in Tribeca? Wonderful food, quiet area and nice to stroll around afterwards. Check out their menu at their website. Reservations for a large group is highly recommended. There's also a nice Belgian restaurant right across the street but I don't recall its name.

I am looking forward to it. Any place is OK for me, Please keep me posted when the place for a meeting is finalized. Thanks.

Let me put in a second vote for Rodeo, it's very handy for me. But I'll monitor developments.

    The Rising of the Minions!

Marc can't make it this weekend, so he's asked me to keep things together for him.

I say this is our big chance! L'ancien regime c'est mort! Who's with me?!!

"Do you hear the people sing?
Singing the song of angry men?
It is the music of the people
Who will not be slaves again!" Les Miserables Alright I'm down with this Kevin. Are we going to march in the streets? LOL
