Several people have asked me about this and want me to empty the contents of my rucsac on the floor and spill my secrets! This I'll do amongst the wider opportunity of people gaining a deeper understanding of 'hillwalking kit', including safety gear, and to consider their own kit requirements for walking in more mountainous/remote terrain and the endurance challenges we're planning to undertake.
I'll bring lots of different types of kit (all clean) so you can have a 'hands on' experience and ask all the questions you've ever wanted to ask!
I've planned a 2 hour session to enable people to have:
* an understanding of different types of hillwalking kit such as baselayers, insulation, soft shell, hard shell and its suitability for different weather/mountain conditions * explored a range of safety equipment and its uses * considered the possible weather scenarios for undertaking the endurance challenges and how that relates to an individual's own personal kit and the kit to be carried by the group
* considered their own individual kit requirements for when hillwalking in mountainous/remote terrain identified gaps (or not) in their own personal clothing, equipment and other kit and considered the priorities and opportunities for how these gaps might be filled
This wont be for everyone as I know many of you are seasoned pro's, but whoever wants to come is very welcome.
