Volunteer for the Horsepower Therapeutic Learning Center

The Horsepower Therapeutic Learning Center is a nonprofit organisation that provides therapeutic equine activities for individuals with disabilities. They are open to having volunteers on Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 6:30-7:30 pm. They need people to clean the horse stalls, provide care for the horses and work in the pastures. There are also administrative opportunities too, such as helping with fund raising. Volunteers do have to go to orientation first, and they have an upcoming orientation date on Saturday, February 16 where we would learn more about the center's mission and procedures, and so on.

Went to venue but see neither hide nor hair of a horse farm at that location. There is a construction site for a college there but no indication whatsoever that there is a farm/horses/barns anywhere near address given. Went home....

Hmm, I don't understand how that happened... I'm really sorry for the misunderstanding. There were horse statues by the side of the road that led to an open gate where there were lots of cars/stables and there were also a few paddocks where horses were out and about. Are you sure you had the address right? It just occurred to me that I should have given out my phone number so people could have contacted me if they were lost etc. I'm sorry I didn't think of that before, I will definitely do that again if I have another volunteer meetup idea.

Not sure yet, but I'm trying to get an answer for you soon! I'll let you know when I hear back although I suppose it wouldn't hurt to bring a snack or something just in case!

It will be from 10 till noon. Part of the orientation will be indoors and part of it will be outside in a covered area. Thanks for the good question!

For those wondering about bringing their children to this... I spoke with the coordinator and anyone may participate as long as they're 14 years old and up.
