Feed & tutor children

Kids Cafe is a powerful partnership between local churches and food banks, providing meals and mentorship for children who may not be getting either of those anywhere else.

I have worked with them in the past and it has been one of the most rewarding volunteer experiences I've had.

Volunteers for Kids Cafe simply show up at First Baptist Church in Kernersville to help prepare and serve donated food to around 30 children. We get to sit and talk with the kids as they eat dinner, then help them go through homework assignments afterwards.

This will be a weekly Meetup, with opportunities to add a Monday group as well if there's a lot of interest. Only 5 extra volunteers are needed each time, so unfortunately space is limited. However, since it will occur every Thursday, there will always be opportunities for others to participate in the weeks ahead.

I had so much fun knocking out homework with these kids, getting them to read, then taking them all outside to play in the sun. It's sad there are only a few weeks left before Kids Cafe stops for the summer!

Great to see everyone!! This is such a rewarding experience and the children are all very appreciative that people from the community are willing to give their time to tutor. I would recommend this meetup . Brandon, the organizer, is amazing and not sure how he finds time to organize all the successful meetups. Thanks for a job well done!!!
