Introduction
Over-40, formerly rugged outdoors type of guy. I'm involved in Ultimate Frisbee and Kickball leagues (among others). I usually keep my gear in the trunk of my car all year long; Frisbee, B-Ball, kickball, fishing rods, deck of cards, and chess set.
What are your favorite outdoor activities?
Fishing, b-ball, Frisbee, biking.
Where is the coolest place you've been?
St. Lucia
What's the most adventurous thing you've done?
Parasailing in Acapulco; the engine died "mid-sail"; I took a 10-story swan-dive into the bay (parachute slowed the decent to a survivable level). I had to choose to either swim 1/2 mile to shore, or 1/4 mile to the boat. Since I can't swim (without a life-jacket), I chose the shortest path. I had to hurry before the parachute got caught in the undertow, which would have carries me out towards the open sea. When I climbed onto the boat, Julio was spraying Ether onto the water-soaked Chevy in-line 6-cylinder engine!!! I wanted to strangle him! That's what you get when you take the "budget tour" instead of the one the hotel recommended.
Where is your favorite getaway spot?
Myrtle Beach for quick getaways. Although I plan to expand my horizons in 2013.

B...maybe that shouldn't be coincidental, but I find it uncanny. Looks like we have similar thoughts too. I looked at the Hotwire, Hotels.com options just this morning, but didn't book anything. Still hoping I can get a deal on an ocean-front rental through VRBO or Homeaway first. If nothing comes through, probably go the hotel route.
