Practice for World Parade & Festival Performance

We are trying out Sam Ash for the venue again, and we will meet and try out more songs for our World Parade & Festival performance on April 26...I don't want to dictate the songlist just yet, because we need to play through a song as a group to know we like the feel,so please make song suggestions(and bring @8-10 copies of the song and be ready to help lead it). So far Little Boxes,Feelin' Groovy,Somewhere Over the Rainbow,On the Road Again,Drop Baby Drop,Jamaican Farewell, and 3 Little Birds are possibles...check out the "files" section of the Meetup page if you want to practice in advance. We need songs that are upbeat, have a positive message, and have an island feel or fit into a world peace theme, and are family friendly. If you  plan to perform at the festival and want input on the set list, you should try to attend. But feel free to come out to this jam and get your Irish on even if you don't plan to play the festival (it is St.Paddy's Day),

As discussed in our last practice, I uploaded Little Boxes in the Key of G, and also put up Drop Baby Drop. There is a good tutorial for Drop Baby Drop at http://ukuleleunderground.com/2008/11/uke-lesson-11-drop-baby-drop/

Here is a link to a good uke songbook that has the version of "White Sandy Beach" that Asa brought us, and also a couple of other festival possibilities - "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing" and "Take Me Home Country Road - IZ version" maybe? It also has "When Irish Eyes are Smiling" for tonight… http://ukulele-wikiwiki.com/uw/2013/2013AllTogether.pdf
I will bring copies of the above songs to try tonight if folks are up for it.

I'm sorry, but I won't be at the jam on Monday. I brought my acoustic bass guitar on Saturday and really enjoyed playing it with you. This was the first time in a while I've played it in an acoustic jam, which requires playing with some enthousiasm. This morning the fingers on my left hand keep going numb and tingling. I think I should have warmed up more and that I overdid it. I'm going to take some ibuprofen and let my hand rest a bit. I don't want to play my way into carpel tunnel. I'll be sure to be ready for the next jam. I'll warm up better next time adn maybe take some ibuprofen before I play. See you next time.

I've made copies of a "world peace" song "The Strangest Dream" I'll bring along for folks to check out ... can my son come along to play bongos and maracas if he's free?
