Chess/Games Cabin Weekend
Friday, Dec. 12th to Sunday, Dec. 14th, 2008


WHEN:
Friday, December 12th, 2008 to Sunday, December 14th, 2008

WHERE:
A 16-person log cabin in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, which is a short 1.5 hour drive from DC.
Carpooling:
Leave a note in the comments if you have a ride, need a ride, and where you're coming from!

WHAT:
A cozy cabin weekend of games! Chess, Scrabble, Taboo, Checkers, Charades, Uno ? whatever you want to bring. There are also several beautiful, scenic hiking trails that go right by the cabin and would make a nice Saturday afternoon activity.

WHO:
Anyone and everyone who loves boardgames and other games. Members from several area Meetup games groups will be joining us, too!


COST:
$150-$165/person, depending on bedroom, which includes:
2-night?s lodging in log cabin in West Virginia
5 meals (Dinner Friday; Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Saturday; Breakfast Sunday). Vegetarian options will be available.
Coffee, Tea, Orange Juice, Hot Cider, Eggnog, Soft Drinks
Please note: I'll be bringing a couple of bottles of wine for dinner, but please bring whatever alcohol you want otherwise on your own. Some whiskey would be nice! ;)

ITINERARY:


Friday, Dec. 12th, 2008:
7pm: Arrival at the cabin, get settled into rooms
8pm: Pasta dinner & salad (spaghetti Bolognese and parmesan cheese sauce (vegetarian) available)
9pm-bed:
1) Beginners? Chess Refresher
or
2) Group games ? taboo, Pictionary, etc

Saturday, Dec. 13th, 2008:
9am-12pm: wake up when you like, then join the group for available breakfast/brunch foods (bagels, eggs, cereal, oatmeal, French toast, bacon), or just some coffee, tea, and OJ.
12pm-4pm:
1) Boardgames, group games, card games, chess
and/or
2) Afternoon walk on the scenic trails that pass right by the cabin

4pm: coffee + pie + snacks
4:30pm-6pm: More games, relaxing
6:30pm: Dinner ? TBD (tacos?) (vegetarian options will be available)
8pm-bed: Group games, hot cider and eggnog by the fireplace

Sunday, Dec. 14th, 2008:
9am-12pm: Pancake breakfast with warm maple syrup
12pm: checkout!




THE CABIN!

The cabin is nestled in the woods in Berkeley Springs in a community of other cabins with beautiful, scenic trails criss-crossing the area. The cabin is huge, with 8 bedrooms that each contain two twin beds, so everyone will have their own bed and share their room with one other person. Let me know if you have a preference for who you want to room with!
The cabin has SIX full bathrooms, central heating and a large wood-burning fireplace, a laundry room, a big kitchen, and tons of seating options.
