This looked like so much fun I purchased 6 tickets when I was there with my mom for End Days last Sunday! So far I believe at least 5 of those are spoken for, but there were plenty of other great seats available.

From the Next Theatre website:
What's funnier than sitting through another Christmas Carol?
What costs less than a single ticket to The Nutcracker? Winner of the 2004 OBIE Award fo Outstanding Musical!

The musical Tom Cruise doesn’t want you to see!

From the satirical mind of Kyle Jarrow comes this 2004 OBIE Award winner and the holiday hit of the year! Eight North Shore kids star in this irreverent and hilarious musical parody celebrating the life of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard. The controversial teachings of the church are dissected against the candy-colored backdrop of a traditional nativity play.

Performance art and children’s theater meet in a musical that the New York Times called "…A spooky, sharp-toothed smile of a show… a halo of hipness and daring,” while the Los Angeles Times hailed it as “An instant cult classic!”

Running time: 75 minutes without intermission

Next Theatre’s Evanston home:
Next Theatre Company is located on the first floor of the Noyes Cultural Arts Center, 927 Noyes Street, Evanston IL 60201 Free parking is available in a lot** adjacent to the theatre, with additional free parking in a huge lot behind the Evanston Civic Center, one block south on Ridge Avenue.

The show is $15 because it's one of the 2 preview shows. Please purchase your tickets before RSVPing so that we know who is actually coming. They had plenty when I purchased mine last Sunday, 11/29. I would recommend not sitting in the first row, but it's a small theater and all the seats are good. The block of 6 I purchased are more or less in the center of row C.

We are also looking for a place that could accomodate us for brunch around 11:30 before the show. Please share if you have any ideas! The Next Theatre has 'dining partners'. I don't know anything about Lulu's, but Dim Sum might be a good option. Has anyone been there? We will meet in the lobby at 1:45. Don't be late or they won't seat you!

Goofy fun! Too bad it was too cold to really hang out after.

Still waiting to hear back from Livie if she is going or not. So I may still have one of those original 6 tickets still available. Livie - call me!
