A small, neighborhood pizza place, called Bartoli's, has agreed to show Cosmos on their tv on Sunday nights at 8:00pm on Fox TV and see how it goes.
People are invited to come watch the show and hang out a bit after if you want to discuss. It's pretty quiet on Sunday nights, mostly doing take-out and delivery so this might be a good option. They have a menu of pizza and some sandwiches and salads. You don't have to eat. (They have no liquor license, so no beer.) If no one shows up, no big deal. About 20 people showed up first week which filled it. (I don't know if anyone showed 2nd week as I couldn't make it.) If 30 people show up, well, then we'll have to find a larger place. Life's a gamble.
Bartoli's is just east of Damen Av. (2000 W) on Addison St. (3600 N). It's 2 blocks west of the Brown Line El stop at Addison and served by both the #50 Damen and #152 Addison CTA bus routes. Plus, street parking in the neighborhood is FREE.
So, there you have it. Others should feel free to pursue venues in your own cities for those in your area, or for a Monday night (when it airs at 9pm on National Geographic TV) and post as a separate meetup. It runs for 13 weeks, after all, so there's time. ~ Monica P.S. This is intended to be for all 11 remaining weeks the show is airing. As a member (not an organizer), I can not set this a recurring event. Please mark it on your own calendars.
