It was wonderful to talk to scientists who are actually doing the research.

Really good family event. I was surprised at the access they let the public have. Lot's of scientists to answer your questions.

I enjoyed the showcase. It was interesting seeing all the various types of research being done at Argonne.

Outstanding! Despite this being a "downsized" open house, there was so much to see and do and hear about! Knowledgeable and interested staff was on hand at each location to tell you about their work. Lots of hands-on stations and demonstrations. I look forward to next year, one staff member said they plan to make it yearly, and feature different groups.

By the way - are we supposed to meet somewhere? All the group?

I may have one or two entry passes, if somebody needs it. However, I will not know until late evening or even tomorrow morning (around 8:30 am). So please text me at:[masked] if you are interested and I will let you know as soon as I find out.

I will be driving and can probably take several passengers. I live in Wrigleyville and will be passing through downtown on my way. Please PM me to arrange transportation.

I attended this event two years ago, and it was a WAY COOL experience! You MUST register in advance online, for obvious security reasons! Come prepared to have your mind opened & blown away!

I think it's more space than security, as it just asked for the number in my party, not their names.

You MAY be right there, TB. However, virtually EVERY governmental facility I've enter these days seems to have it's security measures and I suspect ANL does as well.

Correction: The LAST ANL Open House was in August, 2009.
How time flies, but the memories of that great experience are STILL quite vivid!
