THE HIGGS BOSON: If not the God Particle, then what is it?

Melvyn J. Shochet, Kersten Distinguished Service Professor of Physics at the University of Chicago, speaks on Sunday, February 17th, on "The Higgs Boson: If not the God Particle, then what is it?" Shochet will explain why physicists are so excited by the confirmation of the existence of the Higgs Boson and discuss what this means.

At last moment, I was unable to attend. Is it possible that the presentation was recorded, and I could get a copy?

the lecture was great. it would be good to meet people. that woman was emotionally disturbed and should have been gently removed to a less stimulating quiet place where she could get further assistance. no one persons question is so important as to diturb a community.

I thought the lecture was good, but probably a bit short for such a massive subject. More Q&A time would definitely have been helpful.
Many people didn't get to ask their questions.
The lady who caused a scene was out of line. I was right next to her and the moderator, and heard most of their conversation unfortunately), as I was trying to listen to the presenter. She didn't have a question, her shy boyfriend did and was too afraid to ask. The moderator offered to have the presenter speak with him directly after the lecture, but she would not accept that. She insisted that she had to get the mic and speak publicly. The moderator asked her to sit and he assured her that her question would be answered after the lecture. She was obnoxious and he did his best to not be too much of a distraction.
She clearly had an agenda, and wanted a platform to speak from. She was not interested in discussing subatomic particle physics, I assure you.
Anyway, they did handle the best they could. This was our (wife and myse

This was our (wife and myself) first meetup with this group. You guys seem to do A LOT of very interesting things, so I'm sure we'll be attending another event soon. It would be nice to know/meet the other people who are there from Meetup. Maybe a brief meet and greet before an event?

Anyway, it was great. Thanks for putting together a great group, we look forward to the next event we can get to.

    Great lecture!
Definitely more time for Q&A needed.
I wasn't very impressed on how the EHS people handled the situation with the woman who really wanted to ask a question.
I've been to 3 or 4 meetups, but never met any of you. Where are you hiding? :)

I now know it has nothing to do with god. Needed more time for Q & A, some did not get a chance to ask questions.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
