Our guest this month will be LOUP member Eric Vaandering. Eric is a skilled underwater photographer who has has given photography presentations and seminars to local dive groups for several years now. He travels extensively, and has dived in some of the premier dive destinations in the world.
He has made a two recent trips to the Red Sea . The Red Sea is one of the worlds top dive destinations and Eric will talk about several diving locations. He will have new underwater photos to show and will explain how you can plan your dive trip to this fascinating location. This will be a longer version of the presentation Eric gave at Our World Underwater in February.
Eric Vaandering is a Chicago area SCUBA diver. Eric is active in the local dive community as an organizer of the Chicago Scuba Meetup and as an active member of LOUP and UASC. He’s been fortunate to dive a number of “off the beaten path” locations, including two recent trips to the Red Sea , unfamiliar to most Americans. Eric has been photographing the world since the 1990s and the underwater parts of it since 2006.
Note from Lynn Funkhouser:
Our last few meetings have been at Jak's Tap, 901 W. Jackson St. , just a few blocks E. of Helix. www.jakstap.com There is plenty of meter parking on Jackson St. for $1.50 an hour. There are also parking lots in the immediate area. If we wish, we can order & pay for food & drinks at the bar & a runner will deliver it to our green room which is separate from the bar so it should be quiet. I have checked out several places & Jak's Tap seems to be the best I can find so far. If anyone has better ideas, bring them to the meeting.
