From Susan M and other members that I met and dived with at Haigh Quarry this summer.
This is a tough call. All my salt water dives have been great experiences. The best is probably a tie between my first salt water dive in the northern Gulf (I was certified in freshwater), and a northern Gulf dive I made this summer when I got really close to a Goliath Grouper that was between 5 and 6 feet long.
To meet fellow divers, have people to dive with, and learn about dive trips. The people I've met so far in Chicago Scuba meetup are so cool who wouldn't want to be part of their group.

I was certified April, 2008. I received my rescue diver certification in August, 2012, and my night diver and deep diver specialties in 2013. I currently have 170 dives logged.
I've wanted to scuba dive since I saw my first episode of Sea Hunt when I was a little kid. The book Shadow Divers inspired me to finally take lessons. I particularly like seeing and learning about marine invertebrates, and diving on wrecks.
