Many thanks to Steve Starr for sharing the newly launched posadalife.org website, Elliot Post for showing the document compiler application he built, Jeffrey Hartman for the WorkSearch application he built, Kay Wharton for sharing her web design work and Dennis King for his WordPress custom development work. Talent abounds... we must do this again.

Join us May 13, 2014, 7PM at Firehouse Grill for Luke Hogan's presentation on the PhoneGap Framework. The PhoneGap framework allows anyone with a front end design/development background to deploy apps to the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and even the Windows store using a common codebase and little more than javascript, html, and css. Luke will talk about his experience launching two apps via PhoneGap. He'll also talk about why he decided to focus energy on this instead of diving into learning Objective C or Java and writing truly native apps.

Luke Hogan is a self-taught front end designer and developer who founded PIXL Group, a digital agency, and CivicPage, a web-based community outreach platform. He's also an airline pilot... for real.

Spring has sprung in Chicago and May is the perfect month to come and enjoy Chicago moving into the warm weather. See you in May at Firehouse.

Luke is using Phonegap in a really creative way. I appreciated his candor in sharing what it does well and what it does not do well.

As usual, Luke delivered an excellent 101 presentation on phone gap, covering best and worst uses, as well as how one can get started on it. Very informative. Thanks!

Oh Luke that GUI Builder that Elly was talking about I think was called codiqa - It basically allows you to use a gui builder to generate jquery mobile mockup - it also has a cloud based build engine like PhoneGap Build. It then generate the app in their cloud using phonegap but on their servers not Adobe server - https://codiqa.com/

Nice to see some of the same people and meet a couple of new folks, and the presentation was casual, informative, and conversational. A good time -- thanks, Steve, for driving the bus over the years, and thanks Elliott for taking over the wheel tonight!
