Thanks again to John Mahady for his excellent presentation on virtual machines in October! Please join us on November for our last seminar-based meetup this year! (Stay tuned for details regarding a special holiday party for our December meetup). November our very own co-organizer Jeff McNear will be presenting on Pantheon. We all know version control is important and that sometimes it can be hard to use. Pantheon can be either an alternative or supplement to your existing version control, that allows for you to deploy changes between different states of your system. See Jeff's abstract below, and join us in November to learn the full details. We hope to see you there!

Version control tracks code modifications, but this is only half of the equation when that code is interacting with a database. is a Drupal-centric specialty webhost ( recently expanded to include WordPress support) which has a unique concept of providing multiple environments (development | testing | live)  for each deployment.  We will take a look at how this system works and how to use the development => testing => live workflow that it implies.

Jeff did an excellent job explaining the whys and hows of workflow from dev->test->live and demonstrated how Pantheon makes that easy for Drupal & WordPress users. Thanks, Jeff!
