Exclusive Pedway International Spy Quest $25/person

We need to break out of our apartments and do something different, so I talked Chicago’s Finest Tours into doing their Exclusive Pedway Spy Quest for us. They did this last year, and it was hands down their best event ever and something we can do as a group to get to know each other while getting some exercise. The meeting place would be Houlihan’s Party Room, 111 E. Wacker Drive, 5:30 p.m., where we are broken up into groups of 4-6 team members and are given a packet of challenges - trivia, messages to decode, riddles to solve, etc., which give clues to rendevou places throughout the Pedway where other challenges are given. The answers to these challenges also provide the basis for assignment of points for the team, and the team with the most points wins. There is, of course, a time limit for completing the challenges and the winning team or teams get some pretty good prizes. I’m sure that there will be surprise treats for everyone, but I haven’t been told what yet. Probably because I’m not good with secrets, but I know that we will have a great time. To participate, please go to and get your voucher for $25, as soon as possible, so that we can tell Chicago’s Finest Tours that we will be there.

Guys, can I get someone's cell number. I sometimes have trouble finding the groups. And where exactly will we be meeting?

Sure,[masked], Kathy, and don't worry, the good thing is that we will have the party room at Houlihan's all to ourselves and couldn't miss our other Meet Up members if we wanted to (which we don't). Really this will be so good because it is all Meet Up members and a few of their friends, and everyone will welcome and wants to meet everyone else, or they wouldn't be there.

There are now 28 Meet Up members who have purchased their vouchers and 28 more who have RSVP'd yes. The event is tomorrow night, so please don't forget to go to to get your voucher and spot. Don't worry if you aren't good at trivia or getting around the pedway, someone else on your team will be. But we will all have a great time, do something different and get to know others in Meet Up.

If it is any help, after you register with to get your voucher, I think you can still get a Lyft credit of $20 (1st time users) for registering with Lyft cars are those crazy looking, but actually very nice cars with the pink mustaches. They charge less than cabs charge you for a ride, in fact they only give you a suggested price, and it all goes on your credit card from their app (although you do need to download and activate the app - which is free). Their service has saved me money and just saved me in general several times when no cabs would come. It's nice to have the app! They will take you from Chicago to a radius of 60 miles out, but the pick up radius is closer to the city.

This does sound like a very fun event with a great opportunity to really get to know people as they bring their talents and interests into solving the challenges.

Unfortunately, by the time that it was announced on January 16th, I already had another commitment for the evening of the 31st.

And even with a 5pm start, getting out of work and getting downtown in time would be a challenge, especially in Friday traffic.

Maybe if you do it again on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, or with a start time of something like 6:00 or 6:30. And I know: over two weeks notice should be plenty, but there are those of us who also have things that we plan further ahead, especially on weekends.
