Strategy Games at Mystic Celt

We play both board and card games that involve some sort of strategy component. Typically these games take 1-2 hours and are 4-5 players. Examples of these include Dominion, Agricola, Chinatown, Citadels, Power Grid, etc.

If anyone would like to post comments about what games they'd like to play that night/solicit interest from other attendees, great to think ahead. No problem if not though, will bring a bunch of games, and everyone can just figure out what they'd like to play upon arrival.

I checked over the Tzolk'in game. The good news: Despite what was reported, all buildings are present! The bad news: Instead, a red marker and a starting wealth tile are missing. Verdict: Eh, it happens, will still continue to loan out games, but let's be careful out there.

I have a newly acquired copy of *cough* Acquire (1999 version) that has never been played, shrink wrapped and all. I will probably bring it. Hopefully my new poker chips will have arrived by then because I hate using paper money. Beer + Paper Money = pulp.

Wow, Acquire is from 1962? Did not know that. I read through the rules, and we did a couple things wrong last night. The big one: the game doesn't end automatically when a corp reaches 41 tiles. Rather someone has to declare the game over on their turn. And no one is supposed indicate that the game could end unless it is their turn.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
